This posting got me emotional when I read about this event. Both my grandparents resided in what is now called 'Ballycliffe Lodge Long-Term Care Residence' in Ajax, before they passed away. When I was in high school, I would visit them regularly - I also volunteered there.

Every holiday, whether it was Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas, it was well known, that my parents, sister and I would have dinner with them. If they weren't able to come to us, we would go to them. It was so depressing looking around to see countless residents eating alone. Many of the nurses said no one visited them; yet, many had families. So sad...

Thank you for making this a priority. I hope it continues...
