Double standard in traffic violations

I feel it's unfair that police use radar guns to pull people over for speeding especially when some roads have very low speed limits for 4 lanes and yet police themselves speed when their lights are not on and they are not persuing anyone. When their lights are on and the siren is on, they are on an emergency run and should be speeding. But when they are just driving along, they are speeding all the time and get away with it. Why don't they follow the posted speeding limits when not in on an emergency run. They certainly are not setting the example they expect everyone else to follow.
