HI, I am currently a High School student and I know that I want to be in the Durham Regional Police. I have always wanted to become a Police Officer, since I can remember. I know that it is very hard to become one these days and I was wondering if the Police Foundations course would give you a better chance at getting accepted. Also, what types of courses in High school would be good to get accepted into the Police Foundations program. Thanks.

Each applicant has a number of different assets to bring to the Police Service. Post-Secondary Education is very important, however it is only one piece of the puzzle. Police Foundations will give you a much clearer view of what policing is all about, however, almost any Post-Secondary education has elements that can be applied to Policing. Unfortunately, I cannot comment of what courses are neccessary to get accepted in the Police Foundations Program, you will have to contact each college separately and request their admission requirements.
