I have talked with many of my friends and a few teachers at my school, and they have all told me that it is indeed legal to carry a sword. As long as it is fastened to the sheath so you cannot draw it and that it is in plain view (not concealed) i was wondering if this was true?

You can legally carry a sword as long as it is not concealed and not used in a threatening manner. Withdrawing a sword from the sheath could be considered threatening in some circumstances and could result in criminal charges.

The carrying of swords is not recommended by the Durham Regional Police.
