In response to the post regarding right turns from the Pickering GO Station. GO Transit Special Constables are empowered with many Provincial and Federal acts however the Highway Traffic Act is not one of them. Yes we have certain charges that could apply such as "Fail to obey sign on authority property" etc however making the traffic stop is the difficult part since we lack the authority on public roads and why it is difficult to stop the prohibited action. In some regions our officers work alongside municipal forces who assist us with the stop so that we are the regional police officer can lay the appropriate charge. We do care, but the tools are outside our responsibilities right now.
