Inspector Mark Morissette

Inspector Morissette leads a team of 127 officers and four civilian employees in this growing area of the Region that serves as home to the Regional Government Headquarters, The Durham Region EMS Headquarters, the Durham District School Board and the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences.

Central West Division is responsible for policing the Town of Whitby as well as the northern boundaries of north Oshawa. The northern area of Oshawa includes two post-secondary learning institutions; Durham College and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. These post-secondary facilities are home to 18,000 students and 3,000 faculty on a daily basis. There are numerous recreational facilities spread throughout this vast area which include; The Legend’s Centre, Iroquois Park Sports Complex, Luthor Vipond Memorial Arena and The McKinney Centre, to name just a few.

Central West Division is home to areas of luxury homes, attractive subdivisions, rural communities as well as student housing. The Whitby entertainment district is a robust section of town with a variety of restaurants and pubs that would suit anyone’s interests. Central West Division is one of the many great areas of Durham Region to live, play and grow

Inspector Morissette and his team have focused their efforts, proactive and reactive, to address all the strategic local priorities that are aligned with the Durham Regional Police 2014-2016 Strategic Business Plan. Through ongoing interaction and involvement by everyone, the impacts of these focused efforts continue to achieve positive results.
