On Tuesday June 18, Durham Regional Police hosted the North Durham leg of the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run. Participants from Beaverton, Cannington, Sunderland, Uxbridge and Port Perry ran with officers to help raise awareness and money for Special Olympics. Many students from our local schools also took part in the event.
North Durham raised almost $1,200!
Special thanks to our community partners Vos Independent, Carquest (Port Perry) and Zehr's in Uxbrige who provided water and granola bars for the runners and a barbeque at the end of the run.
Durham Regional Police would also like to thank Mayor's Clayton and Mercier who came out to support Special Olympics. A good time was had by all.
