Victim Services of Durham Region recruits from within the community and is always seeking compassionate and dependable people to join our team. Volunteer applicants may apply to become a Volunteer Crisis Responder on our 24/7 Victim Response Team or serve as a member on our Board of Directors.
As a volunteer with our 24/7 Victim Response Team you will be required to provide a minimum of two, 12-hour shifts per month, responding to calls for on-scene or telephone support to victims and their families.
As a member on our Board of Directors, a Director acts in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization. You will be required to attend regular monthly meetings and work collaboratively as a team.
All Volunteer applicants are required to consent to a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Person's screening with a commitment to attend a 40-hour training program, a requirement to volunteer with the Victim Response Team.
