  Suspect Flees from Police in Stolen Vehicle

A 26-year-old male was arrested after fleeing from police and crashing his vehicle in two separate incidents in Bowmanville overnight.

On Monday, September 25, 2017, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of East Division observed a white Mercedes travelling at a high rate of speed on Green Road near Baseline Road in Bowmanville. Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over and after activating their emergency lights, the suspect vehicle failed to stop for police. The suspect vehicle struck a police cruiser and continued fleeing westbound.

The vehicle later struck a civilian vehicle on Bloor Street east of Harmony Road in Oshawa. The civilian received minor injuries. Officers quickly arrested the driver and he was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect vehicle was stolen from Toronto.

Tory SPENCER, age 26, of no fixed address, is charged with: Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident; Flight from Police x 2; Dangerous Operation x 2; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime; Drive While Disqualified; Drive While under Suspension and Fail to Comply with Probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
