Twelve commercial motor vehicles inspected during a commercial blitz in Bowmanville and Oshawa were taken off the road due to safety concerns.

On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, DRPS officers from North Division, East Division and Traffic Services Branch were joined by representatives from the Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of the Environment to conduct a two-day commercial motor vehicle inspection blitz in Bowmanville and Oshawa.

The team inspected 25 vehicles and took 12 of those out of service for safety violations, including improper brakes and insecure loads. Officers laid 35 charges for various mechanical, weight and document-related infractions.

DRPS would like to thank all of the agencies involved with conducting this blitz, which took some dangerous vehicles off of the road.
