  UPDATE - Cyclist Struck by Motor Vehicle in Oshawa

Investigators have charged a 32-year-old male after a cyclist was fatality struck in August.

On Wednesday, August 2, 2017 police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Adelaide Avenue east of Harmony Road in the City of Oshawa. A black Ford Crown Victoria was eastbound on Adelaide Avenue when it contacted an eastbound blue sedan, lost control, left the roadway striking a cyclist who was riding westbound on Adelaide Avenue. The cyclist, a 26-year-old Oshawa female, was injured and later died in hospital on August 5th, 2017.

On Saturday October, 28, 2017, the driver of the Ford was arrested and charged by police.

Luc COMEAU, age 32 years of Rideau Street in Oshawa, was charged with: Dangerous Driving cause Death; Careless Driving and Race Motor Vehicle.The accused was released on a Promise to Appear.

The investigation into the collision is still ongoing. Police are still seeking a second vehicle involved in the collision. The vehicle is described as a blue sedan with black tinted windows. The vehicle was last seen travelling eastbound towards Townline Road moments after the collision. The vehicle is believed to have damage to its front left fender.
