DNA tests have confirmed the identity of the torso found at the Oshawa lakefront on September 11, 2017.
Rori HACHE, age 18, of Oshawa, had been reported missing by her family. She was last seen on August 29, 2017 and the DRPS issued a media release in mid-September hoping for information to confirm her whereabouts.
The DNA tests just received by investigators have confirmed the torso found near the Oshawa Harbour belonged to Rori HACHE. Her death is the eighth homicide in Durham Region in 2017.
Investigators would like to speak to anyone who had contact with Rori prior to September 11, 2017. Anyone with new information is asked to contact Det. Short (ext. 5407) or Det. Dorego (ext. 5319) of the DRPS Homicide Unit at 1-888-579-1520.
