  Suspect Arrested after Two Seniors Robbed at ATMs in Oshawa

A male suspect was arrested after two seniors were robbed at ATMs in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at approximately 10:33 a.m., a 66-year-old female was withdrawing money at an ATM on King Street East near Wilson Road South. While in the ATM vestibule, she was approached by a male who demanded she turn over her wallet and threatened to harm her. She complied and he fled the scene on foot.

On Sunday, November 12, 2017, at approximately 9:35 a.m., a 63-year-old female at the same ATM vestibule was approached by a male wielding a knife. He demanded she hand over her wallet. When she refused, the suspect assaulted the victim, who was able to run away. The victim received minor injuries during the incident.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect and he was arrested without incident.

Joey RAGOONANAN, age 28 of no fixed address is charged with: Robbery x2; Carry a Concealed Weapon x2; Weapons Dangerous x2; Uttering Threats; Fail to Comply with Probation x2;Theft Under $5000; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000; Disguise with Intent x2 and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
