  Citizen Alerts Police to Break and Enter Suspect

A citizen in Oshawa is being credited for alerting police after he found a man breaking into his home.

On Monday, November 27, 2017, at approximately 1:20 p.m., police were called by a resident in the Grandview Street South and Bloor Street East area of Oshawa who has witnessed a suspect attempting to break into his home. The citizen scared off the suspect but then followed him from a safe distance and watched him attempt to break into other homes.

Responding officers began searching the area and, with the help of a K-9 Unit, including PSD Rogue, the suspect was apprehended hiding inside a residence.

A 16-year-old from Oshawa is charged with Break Enter and Commit/Dwelling House; Break and Enter Dwelling House with Intent x2; Possession of a Schedule I Substance (cocaine); Possession of a Schedule II Substance (cannabis) and Possession of a Schedule III Substance (Xanax).
