  Math Tutor Charged with Sexual Assault

A math tutor working in Whitby has been charged after allegedly touching a female student in an inappropriate way.

Between November 20 and November 27, 2017, a 70-year-old male was teaching an 18-year-old female student at the Blyth Academy in Whitby. During the one-on-one math classes, the suspect made several inappropriate comments and on two occasions the male tutor touched her in an inappropriate manner. The incident was reported to the police and the suspect was arrested on December 11, 2017.

Ashok KAUSHAL, age 70, of Goodwin Avenue in Clarington has been charged with Sexual Assault x2 and Commit Indecent Act in a Public Place. He was later released on a Promise to Appear and an OIC Undertaking.

The suspect worked as a tutor, teaching at various colleges and private institutions in the GTA. Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.
