  Elderly Woman Struck By Vehicle in Parking Lot

An elderly Oshawa woman is recovering from serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a parking lot yesterday.

On Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at approximately 1:40 p.m., an 87-year-old Oshawa woman was walking through the McDonald's restaurant parking lot on Ritson Road South in Oshawa when she was struck by a vehicle.

The black Dodge sedan, operated by a 47-year-old Oshawa man, had just entered the parking lot from Dean Avenue and was proceeding slowly when the collision occurred. The female had emerged from behind a parked vehicle and was not seen by the motorist.

The female was rushed to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Investigating officers interviewed witnesses and reviewed video available from the restaurant. No charges are anticipated.
