  Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision in Beaverton

An 84-year-old man died as a result of a motor vehicle collision in Brock Township on Thursday evening.

On Thursday, January 4, 2018, at approximately 6:13 p.m., members of North Division were called to Regional Road 23, north of Thorah Concession 2, for the report of a fatal motor vehicle collision that involved two vehicles.

A mini-van driven by a 44-year-old Cannington man was southbound on Regional Road 23 when his vehicle was struck by a northbound Honda. The 84-year-old driver of the Honda was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the mini-van sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre.

Members of Traffic Services attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The road was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
