  Male Charged with Multiple Vehicle Thefts

A man was charged after stealing three vehicles on the same day and was spotted by citizens in Scugog.

On Thursday, January 11 2018, at approximately 6:45 a.m., citizens called police to report a suspected impaired driver in the area of Highway 12 and Cragg Road. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and it was determined that the vehicle involved was stolen from an address in Scugog. The driver was arrested without incident.

Further investigation revealed the suspect was responsible for a break, enter and theft to a residence in the Thickson Road and Dryden Boulevard area of Whitby that occurred that same morning. A vehicle was also stolen at this time. The suspect crashed this vehicle in the area of Highway 12 and Scugog Line 14 in Sunderland and obtained another vehicle that was left unoccupied but warming up nearby. The suspect then crashed this vehicle nearby and again stole the third vehicle nearby, which was the one he was located in.

Tyler CAMERON, age 27 of Rhodes Avenue in Scugog, is charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle x3, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 x3, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Comply with Recognizance, Fraud Under $5000, Break Enter and Theft and other driving-related offences. He was held for a bail hearing.
