  Teenaged Female Arrested after Stabbing in Pickering

A 16-year-old female was arrested after two people were injured during a stabbing at a high school in Pickering.

On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at approximately 1:15 p.m., members of West Division responded to a stabbing at Pine Ridge Secondary School in Pickering. Police arrived at the scene and located a 16-year-old female victim near the front entrance with stab wounds. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A female staff member who tried to intervene also suffered minor injuries and was later treated at a local hospital.

A 16-year-old female suspect was arrested by officers nearby. Charges are pending and an update will follow.

Investigators are urging witnesses who were at the scene during this stabbing to come forward and speak to investigators.
