  Suspect Wanted after Van Load of Dogs Stolen

A suspect is wanted after a vehicle theft and break and enter in Whitby Friday morning.

On Friday, January 19, 2018, at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of Central West Division responded to the area of Garden Street and Bradley Drive in Whitby for a theft of a vehicle. The armed suspect approached a female dog walker and made a demand for her vehicle while armed with a knife. The male took the vehicle, a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander which contained a dozen dogs and drove off.

The male is also responsible for a break and enter prior to the theft at a residence in the general vicinity of the car theft. Officers with the assistance of a citizen located the van with the dogs inside at approximately 3:00 p.m. The dogs were in good condition and being returned to their rightful owners.

The suspect is described as male, white, tall thin build, wearing a dark jacket.
