  Fraud Suspect Arrested After Crime Spree at Local Fitness Clubs

A 33-year-old Toronto woman is facing over 50 charges for defrauding multiple victims at Goodlife Fitness locations in Durham Region and across the GTA.

On Wednesday January 24, 2018, officers arrested a female at the Goodlife location on Consumers Road in Whitby, after a month-long investigation by our Major Crime Fraud Unit.

It's believed the accused attended Goodlife locations across the GTA, including five locations in Durham, where she posed as a gym member and entered the women's locker room. Once inside, lockers were broken into and victims' property stolen, including identification, credit cards and bank cards. The accused used the stolen items to make fraudulent purchases and cash withdrawals.

Falyn CLAYTON, age 33 of Weston Road in Toronto, faces over 50 fraud-related charges including: Possess Break-in Instrument; Theft Under $5,000; Mischief Under $5,000; Possession of Credit Card Obtained by Crime and Possession of Identity Document of Another. CLAYTON was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators have identified approximately 20 victims and are asking anyone who may have been victimized to come forward. Members of the Major Crime Fraud Unit would like to thank members of the public and the Toronto Police Service who assisted with this investigation.
