  Suspect Arrested After Series of Break and Enters in Whitby and Oshawa

Investigators were able to identify a suspect responsible for numerous residential break and enters in Oshawa and Whitby.

December 2017, members of Central East and Central West Division Criminal Investigation Bureaus commenced an investigation into a series of residential break and enters in the region. Through further investigation, police were able to identify a 39-year-old suspect. The suspect was arrested during a break and enter on Waverley Street in Oshawa on Wednesday.

Investigators executed three search warrants in Oshawa and recovered a large amount of stolen property.

Scotty MCGREGOR, age 39, of Birchcliffe Avenue in Oshawa, is charged with: Break and Enter x3 and Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime. He was held for a bail hearing.

Police are seeking to reunite the seized property with rightful owners and will be contacting the victims of recent break and enters.

Investigators believe there may be more victims in this area that had property stolen from their residences since December 2017. Investigators would like victims to come forward if they haven't already done so and submit an online report on the DRPS website. (Online Reporting)
