  Double Shooting in Oshawa Leaves One Dead Another Critical

A 22-year-old male was pronounced dead and another male received critical injuries after a shooting in Oshawa.

On Sunday, January 28, 2018, at approximately 10:20 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to a shooting call on Oxford Street in Oshawa. Officers arrived to find two victims both 22-years-old with gunshot wounds. Police believe that the victims were in their vehicle in the parking lot when this occurred. Both victims were transported to a local hospital. One of the males a 22-year-old from Ajax was taken to a Toronto trauma center with critical injuries, where he is currently listed in stable condition.

The second victim was pronounced dead in hospital. He has been identified as Courtney Browne, age 22, of Whitby.

Police don't have a description of the suspect(s) at this time. Investigators don't believe that this was a random act.

Homicide Investigators are investigating this incident as the second homicide of 2018 in Durham Region.
