  Traffic Stop Results in Numerous Charges

A routine traffic stop for a traffic violation resulted in the seizure of drugs and two suspects facing numerous charges.

On Friday, February 2, 2018, at approximately 9:45 p.m., a member of Central West Division observed a vehicle in the area of Manning Road and Garrard Road in Whitby which failed to stop for a stop sign. The suspect vehicle almost struck the fully marked police vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and further investigation revealed a quantity of drugs and two replica firearms within.

Shawn EMERSON, age 40 and Jacqueline DAVIS, age 20, both of Harwood Avenue in Ajax have been charged with: Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Trafficking; Possession of Hashish for the Purpose of Trafficking; Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking; Possession of Percocets for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of LSD for the Purpose of Trafficking. EMERSON faces an additional Highway Traffic Act charge of Disobey Sign - Fail to Stop.

They were both held for a bail hearing.
