  Teens Arrested in Human Trafficking Investigation

A 16-year-old female was sexually assaulted and coerced into human trafficking by two other teens in Pickering.

On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, the victim was coerced by another student into attending a local hotel in Whitby to meet with a potential customer for sexual services. The victim attended the hotel and met with an unknown male. The 16-year-old female was sexually assaulted by this male at the hotel. The victim came forward to human trafficking investigators on Monday, February 5, 2018 and advised them of the details. Two teens were investigated and arrested.

A 16-year-old female from Pickering is charged with: Procure a Person Under 18 Years; Advertise Another Person's Sexual Services; Exercise Control of a Person Under 18 Years; Obtain Sexual Services for Consideration; Material Benefit from Sexual Services Under 18; Permit Person Under 18 Years on Premise for Prohibited Sexual Activity; Possess Child Pornography; Distribute Child Pornography; Agreement or Arrangement - Sexual Offence Against Child and Offering Sexual Services for Consideration Near School. She was held for a bail hearing.

A 16-year-old male from Toronto is charged with: Procure a Person Under 18 Years and Permit Person Under 18 years on Premise for Prohibited Sexual Activity. He was released on a Promise to Appear.
