  Male Charged After Bars Broken into in Pickering and Ajax

Officers arrested a male early Tuesday morning after reports of break and enters at two bars in Ajax and Pickering.

The first occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at a bar in the Westney Road and Kingston Road area of Ajax. A suspect smashed the front glass of the establishment and broke into the ATM onsite. He fled with a quantity of cash.

On Tuesday February 20, 2018 at approximately 3:35 a.m., officers responded to a break and enter in progress at a bar in the Bayly Street and West Shore Boulevard area of Pickering. Officers received information that a male was attempting to break into an ATM inside the premise. They arrived and located a male hiding inside the bar; he was arrested and charged.

Shawn TAYLOR, age 51, of Mountcastle Crescent in Pickering is charged with Break and Enter to Commit - Business; Break and Enter With Intent; Possession of Break in Instruments; Mischief x2; Theft Over $5,000 and Possession of Controlled Substance (marihuana). He was released on a Promise to Appear.
