  One Young Person Arrested After Imitation Firearm Located in Oshawa

One male youth faces a drug trafficking charge and an imitation firearm seized at an Oshawa high school.

On Thursday, March 1, 2018 at approximately 10:30 a.m., members of Central West Division responded to McLaughlin High School in Oshawa after reports of a male with a gun. Police arrived at the school and a 16-year-old male student was arrested after allegations that he was in possession of a handgun. The school was placed in a hold and secure for a brief period of time. An imitation firearm and drugs were located in the school.

A 16-year-old male from Oshawa was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (marihuana) and Possessing an Imitation Firearm in a Public Place. He was released on a Promise to Appear.

A 17-year-old female from Oshawa was charged with Possessing an Imitation Firearm in a Public Place. She was issued a part three Summons.
