  Male Charged with Assaulting a Police Officer

An 18-year-old male is facing charges after he assaulted a police officer who was responding to his call for assistance.

On Friday, February 9, 2018, at approximately 3:35 a.m., DRPS officers responded to a residence on Cabot Street in Oshawa after a male called looking for assistance in removing an unwanted female from his home. The male stated he asked the female to leave but she refused. When police arrived, the male, who was under the influence of alcohol, became combative with one of the responding officers and made threats. In order to subdue the male, one of the officers used a conducted energy weapon. He was then placed under arrest.

Jacob VILLENEUVE, age 18 of Cabot Street in Oshawa, is charged with Assault Police Officer and Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm x2. He was released on a Promise to Appear.
