  11-Year-Old Cyclist Suffers Serious Injuries in Whitby

An 11-year-old male sustained serious injuries after his bicycle struck a parked vehicle in Whitby yesterday.

On Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at approximately 5:38 p.m., members of Central West Division were called to the area of Lady May Drive and Gabrielle Crescent after a cyclist struck a vehicle that was parked on the roadway. The 11-year-old Whitby cyclist was travelling on his bicycle northbound from Lady May Park with some friends when he failed to negotiate a turn and collided into the rear of a vehicle. The young boy was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. He suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a Toronto area trauma center where he remains in stable condition.
