  Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges

A Toronto man is facing drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Pickering last night.

On Monday June 11, 2018, police were called to Valley Farm Road and Kingston Road in Pickering for reports of a vehicle driving erratically near the Pickering Recreation Centre. Officers stopped a vehicle and noted the odour of marihuana. The lone male in the vehicle was arrested and charged. Further investigation led to the seizure of a quantity of marihuana, Psilocybin (mushrooms), drug paraphernalia, a digital scale, cash and cellphones. The estimated value of items seized is just under $30,000.

Zachary MARANDOLA, age 21 of Carnival Court in Toronto is charged with Trafficking in Schedule II Substance and Possession of Other Schedule II Substance. He was held for a bail hearing.
