Officers Line Street to Say Goodbye

Mar 15, 2007 11:40 ET

Over 600 police officers lined Russell Street East in Lindsay Thursday to say a final goodbye to PC Greg Hearn, who was killed while off-duty in a tragic snowmobiling accident March 9th on Lake Scugog.

Police Chief Vern White, Deputy Chief Mike Ewles, DRPS Senior Officers and Police Services Board Chair Terry Clayton were among hundreds of mourners who came to the 11 a.m. service at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Officers attended from a wide variety of police services, including York, Toronto, the R.C.M.P., the O.P.P., City of Kawartha Lakes and Peel Region.

PC Hearn was a dedicated police officer and a valuable member of 15 Division (North Durham). He will be missed by everyone at the Durham Regional Police Service and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Flags at all Divisions will remain at half-staff until sunset on Thursday March 15th, 2007.
