Dec 11, 2008 10:04 ET

Four members of the Oshawa Generals – Tyler Taylor, James DeLory, Frank Perna and Neil Conway - assisted members of the DRPS R.I.D.E. team last night as the 2008/09 Festive R.I.D.E. campaign entered its fourth week.

The players handed out 2 for 1 tickets to home games for motorists who had not been drinking. The R.I.D.E. stop was set up on Brock Street N, near the Whitby Curling Club, in Whitby.

Last night, 455 vehicles were stopped, 37 ASD tests were delivered, seven 12-hour suspensions were issued, there were five impaired-related arrests and a total of six Impaired/Exceed/Refuse charges. In addition, 15 traffic tickets were written.

The Festive R.I.D.E. program will continue throughout the holiday season in various locations throughout the region.
