Durham Regional Police Chief Mike Ewles, members of DRP and the Community Advisory Committee took part in World Religion Day celebrations this weekend in Whitby. Fourteen faith groups were invited to take part in the event which was held at Westminster United Church.
World Religion Day aims to build dynamic relationships between all religions in Durham Region. This year’s theme was materialism vs. spirituality and members of the community were invited to hear from various religious leaders. Throughout the day those in attendance were also entertained by musical groups including those from Dunbarton-Fairport United Church and Bnai Shalom and VTikvah Temples.
Religious leaders spoke about finding a balance between materialism and spirituality in our society.
