  Help Identify Robbery Suspects

Investigators have released a store video showing suspects robbing the Sam’s Food Mart convenience store in Ajax.

The video is attached. The highlight of the footage shows two suspects going behind the counter and removing the cash registers. After the video we have included some still images from the video.

The robbery took place March 15th, 2009 at approximately 4:00 a.m. on Hunt Street.

Three young male teenagers, with their faces covered, had entered the store and one was brandishing a large knife. The clerk was threatened and two cash registers were removed from the counter. The suspects fled the store, running in different directions. A fourth suspect stood on lookout and he also had his face covered. The 35-year-old male clerk did not receive any physical injuries.

Suspect #1 is described as: male, white, 14-16 years old, weighing 165 lbs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

Suspect #2 is described as: male, black, 14-16 years old, 6’ tall, 160 lbs with a slender build, wearing a black puffy jacket with a diagonal pattern, blue jeans, wearing a black baseball cap with red trim, carrying a black backpack.

Suspect #3 is described as male, thin build, 14-16 years old, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with zipper and a black baseball cap, carrying a black backpack.

Suspect #4 is described as male, white, 14-16 years old, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans.

Anyone with information as to the identity of these young males is urged to contact the Robbery Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5359. Anonymous tips can be made to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
