DRP Reminds Motorists to Drive Safe

Apr 09, 2009 11:04 ET

Durham Regional Police are urging everyone to slow down, wear a seatbelt and think safety this weekend as thousands of motorists pour onto the highways.

As motorists make their way from the GTA to cottage country and back, they are encouraged to slow down, obey the rules of the road and be patient. Higher volumes of traffic mean slower speeds, so please expect this as you travel north.

The DRPS will have officers patrolling key highways in Durham Region to help remind motorists that speeding will not be tolerated.

Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend!
