The 29th Annual Pride Week Parade was held this past weekend on Sunday, June 28, with nearly 40 members and supporters of DRPS marching to show their PRIDE.
Even the rain couldn’t deter DRPS members as they walked alongside the rainbow-decaled cruiser, while distributing candy and DRPS tattoos to the spirited and enthusiastic crowd of over one million.
Constable Keith Richards, DRPS Diversity Coordinator, was pleased to see more members out this year over last year’s 25 and hopes to continue to build and see more and more people attend and participate in the coming years. Many of our friends from the Region of Durham were also in attendance. Other than Toronto, DRPS had the most members participating in the parade than any other police service.
The Human Resource Unit also had a recruiting booth at the parade site on both Saturday and Sunday.
