With the snip of a ribbon, the new Durham Regional Police Office in downtown Uxbridge officially opened Nov. 20th, providing citizens with easier access to police personnel.
Regional Chair Roger Anderson, Acting Uxbridge Township Mayor Susan Para, Police Services Board Vice Chair Kevin Ashe, Chief Kevin McApline, Deputy Chief Chuck Mercier and North Durham Community Police Office Leader Inspector Bill Temple were among those who participated in the ceremony.
The new location of the storefront facility is 34 Brock St. W. – the main street of Uxbridge, on the south side just a few doors east of the movie theatre. A permanent part-time schedule of office hours is now being finalized and will be announced shortly. The telephone number is the same for most DRPS facilities – (905) 579-1520.
A portion of the 1,700 square foot facility is being leased to the Ministry of Public Safety and Security for use by Probation and Parole Officer Kim King. He also participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony and is looking forward to offering greater convenience to the residents of Uxbridge and area. For appointments with King in the Uxbridge office, please call (905) 985-9794.
Also participating in the ceremony was 28-year veteran PC Dave Mann, the longest-serving member of the North Durham CPO and North Durham Staff Sergeant Kim Bulloch.
