Ring in the New Year with a Free Ride Home

Dec 23, 2009 12:00 ET

Start the new year off on the right foot by ensuring Durham roadways are safe for everyone. Plan ahead and “ARRIVE ALIVE” to and from your celebrations this season.

Durham Region Transit (DRT), in partnership with DRPS, and sponsorship from Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and the Manufacturing & Technology Centre (MTC), is offering free local transit on New Year’s Eve to all Durham residents from 8:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. The free DRT service will meet the last GO Train arrival from Union Station on New Year’s Eve at the Pickering Station (1:49 a.m.), the Ajax Station (1:54 a.m.), the Whitby Station (2:01 a.m.) and the Oshawa Station (11:08 p.m.).

For more information, please visit the Durham Transit website.

If you aren’t taking local transit, ensure you use taxis, designated drivers, limos or key services to arrive safely. Plan ahead, don't take a chance and don’t drink and drive.

Durham Regional Police Service wishes everyone a healthy and Happy New Year!
