The National Hockey League’s Oldtimers team has challenged the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Team to an exciting game of hockey. The OldTimers' Hockey Challenge gives fans and players alike an opportunity to celebrate a common joy of the game while raising funds for the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
This year’s game boasts an impressive line-up of hockey greats on the Oldtimers' roster, including Glenn Anderson, Dale Hawerchuk, Steve Shutt, Bryan Trottier, Billy Smith and Bobby Hull (Coach), Craig Simpson, Rick Vaive, Rick Middleton, Dave Ellett, Gary Leeman, Dennis Maruk, Bob Probert, Igor Kravchuk, Dmitri Mironov, Cliff Ronning and Jimmy Mann, who will face off against the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Team. Referee Ron Hoggarth will add to the competitive spirit of the game.
The Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge will also feature laser shows, tactical teams, the Oshawa Cadet Band, Crazy Claude – the trumpeter, the Call to Recycle Tykes and world silver medalists Nexxice Synchro Team.
All fans with an Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge ticket are invited to bring their skates and participate in the LOWES Pre-Game Public Skate with some of the Legends on Thursday February 25, 2010, between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 at the General Motors Centre in Oshawa.
