  Our Cops Get McHappy

May 05, 2010 11:48 ET

Members of the Durham Regional Police Service brought new meaning to ‘serving the community’ on May 5 by volunteering at various McDonalds restaurants in Durham Region for McHappy Day.

McHappy Day is a McDonalds Canada fundraising effort in support of local children’s charities. Several of our officers supported this great cause by volunteering their services at McDonalds locations in Durham including Beaverton, Ajax and Whitby.

One dollar from the sale of every BigMac, Happy Meal and McMuffin sandwich on this day is donated to local children’s charities. In Durham, causes supported include the new Toronto Ronald McDonald House, the Grandview Children’s Centre in Oshawa and the new family waiting room at the Bowmanville hospital.
