  Another Successful Police Week

May 14, 2010 11:23 ET

Members of Durham Regional Police spent this week interacting with members of the community during the annual Police Week at the Oshawa Centre.

DRP was joined by the O.P.P and the R.C.M.P, along with community partners from Victim Services of Durham Region and Neighbourhood Watch, to educate people, young and old, about various aspects of policing.

Information on counterfeit currency, crime prevention, personal safety, Crime Stoppers, the Kids’ Safety Village, Road Watch and kids’ fingerprinting kits were just a few of the resources available to the community.

In Ontario, Police Week is held annually to increase crime prevention awareness and to give recognition to police services.

DRP would like to thank Csts. Paul Hawrychuk and Marten Wind of our Crime Prevention/Community Services Unit for all their hard work during the week. In addition, the event would not have been able to run without the help of our dedicated Auxiliary officers and volunteers. Great job everyone.
