Crime Stoppers held its annual appreciation luncheon on May 19 to thank the local media for its support. Durham Regional Police Service was acknowledged, as well as many other media outlets in the area.
Crime Stoppers is partnered with the police, the media and the community and needs the support because it is a non-profit, non-police organization that pays for anonymous tips.
Since it was established in 1986, Crime Stoppers have received 21,557 tips, made 3,114 arrests, laid 8,584 charges, cleared 3,080 cases, recovered $6,730,102 in properties and have seized $67,142,867 in drugs.
DRPS would like to congratulate Durham Regional Crime Stoppers for its great work in the community.
