  DRP Looking for Information

Police are appealing to the public for their assistance in identifying multiple male suspects who were seen fleeing from a residence located at 111 Ritson Road North Oshawa.

On Friday June 25, 2010 at approximately 5 a.m. a disturbance call was made to DRP that resulted in a homicide. Police do not believe this incident was a random act. Derrick Brooks, aged 32, from Oshawa, was pronounced dead at the scene and he showed signs of trauma. A second male, aged 32 from Peterborough, is in a Toronto hospital recovering from serious injuries.

Officers have been searching for the suspects but have yet to make any arrests. Anyone walking or driving by this area at 5 a.m., who may have witnessed seeing these males leaving the residence, are encouraged to contact police.

Anyone with new information is requested to contact Det. Dingwall of the DRPS Homicide Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5319. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) and tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
