  Uxbridge Youth Recognized

Jun 29, 2010 14:21 ET

Three young men from Uxbridge were recognized Monday night at Uxbridge Township Council for helping Durham Regional Police stop a potential life-threatening situation.

The three young men contacted police in March of 2010 after seeing an impaired driver in Uxbridge. They immediately called 9-1-1 and kept police informed of the location of the vehicle until a cruiser arrived. An arrest was made and the case is currently before the courts.

Victor Rusk, Paul Jennings and Daniel Finerty were presented with Civilian Recognition plaques by Staff Inspector Brian Fazackerley, Officer in Charge of North Division, and Cst. Anil Maharaj, the Youth Officer for the same division. The ceremony took place at the beginning of the regular council meeting for the township.
