Durham Regional Police Pipe Band (DRPPB) will be competing in the Oshawa International Festival Pipe Band Competition which is held at Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens at 115 Arena St., Oshawa on July 10, 2010.
Since it was formed in 1996 by then S/Sgt. Charlie Green, DRPPB has continued to grow as an organization and strives to entertain as well as to teach the community both piping and drumming. Our band is one of the leading teaching pipe bands in Ontario. The band consists of both civilian uniform volunteers who represent the service with pride. Along with competitions, the DRPPB performs at police ceremonies, memorials and local parades.
DRPPB will be competing against 30 other bands from across Canada and the world this Saturday and will present the community with diverse cultural music. Residents of Durham Region are encouraged to come out and support DRPPB as well as, Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre in Oshawa as all proceeds go towards this cause.
