Festive R.I.D.E. Joins with Partners to Get the Message Out

Dec 17, 2010 11:19 ET

Members from East Division, the Festive R.I.D.E. team and Clarington firefighters teamed up to help promote sober driving.

On December 15 and 16 members of the Clarington Fire Department accompanied our police officers as they checked for impaired drivers in Bowmanville and Courtice.

“The partnership between East Division, R.I.D.E. and Clarington Fire sent a clear message to the community – first responders are standing together this holiday season to stop drinking and driving,” said East Division Inspector Chris Ostler. “We look forward to more collaboration with our partners in 2011.”

To date, DRP has charged 98 people with drinking and driving offences.

*Clarington firefighters were always available to respond to service calls.
