  Help Police Identify this Theft Suspect

Investigators are asking the public to help identify a theft suspect after store security cameras
recorded images of both the suspect and his vehicle.

On Saturday June 18, 2011 at approximately 5:00 p.m., an unknown male was at a Zellers store, on Simcoe St. S in Oshawa, when he reached over the jewelry counter and took 15 rings valued at $4,025. The theft was discovered the following day when employees arrived for work and security analyzed the video recordings. Video images were also captured of the suspect vehicle leaving the parking lot.

The suspect is described as: male white, approximately 30-40 years of age. He was wearing black shorts, black t-shirt, black running shoes and a black and white ball cap with a white logo on the front.

This male may also be related to a theft from the Bowmanville Walmart. During this theft three cameras were stolen.

The vehicle appears to be an older model, silver 2-door Honda Accord or similar make.

Anyone with information regarding the male or the vehicle is asked to contact Det. Taylor of the Central East Criminal Investigation Branch at 1-800-579-1520 ext 1735. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or on the website www.durhamregionalcrimestoppers.ca and tipsters are eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
