Nov 23, 2011 10:48 ET

A group of citizens were recently presented with Certificates of Completion from the “Take Care, Beware” Crime Prevention Academy.

The second annual crime prevention workshop was hosted by Csts. Paul Hawrychuk and Marten Wind, in partnership with Community Living North, an organization that works with the community to welcome, advocate and provide support to people with intellectual disabilities. They also work to support families and schools in planning the transition from school to adult life.

The five-week Take Care Beware program began in 2010 and covers topics such as internet safety, identity theft, personal safety, fraud, home security, drug awareness, theft and vandalism.

Inquires for the next workshop can be directed to either Cst. Hawrychuk or Cst. Wind by email at phawrychuk@drps.ca or mwind@drps.ca.
