On Monday March 5, 2012 the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) will be holding the first annual Community Forum Event from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Ajax Community Centre.
The forum will offer an open space for meaningful, progressive dialogue between all members of Durham Region on current topics concerning diversity and community safety.
Several well-respected speakers will lead a formal information session followed with an opportunity for community representatives to generate discussion and ideas in cooperation with members of the DRPS. With input from participants, DRPS aims to advance a community-driven initiative addressing issues of diversity and priorities in community safety.
The overall goal is to gain feedback from community on how the DRPS can serve the community better and what the community needs DRPS to do in order to ensure their continued confidence and trust.
