Officers Appointed as Major Case Managers

Mar 15, 2012 10:34 ET

Two DRP officers were recently appointed by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services as Multi-Jurisdictional Major Case Managers.

D/Sgts. JJ Allan and Leon Lynch of our Major Crime - Homicide Unit were among only 10 officers appointed across Ontario.

The province implemented the Major Case Management (MCM) system in partnership with the policing community to develop one standard case management system. The MCM aims to raise the major case management standard across the province, allows linked cases to be integrated more easily and promotes cooperation and information sharing between law enforcement agencies.

The Major Case Manager has several investigative functions, in both single and multi-jurisdictional cases, including the overall management of the investigation and decisions surrounding investigative strategies or directions.

Their dedication to excellence has been acknowledged through these appointments beyond just our region. Congratulations JJ and Leon.
